Sandrien (2001 – 2003)

Sandrien is a project of photographers Raimond Wouda , Henk Wildschut and graphic designer Katja van Stiphout. Wildschut and Wouda photographed the mainly Indian crew of the ship Sandrien while it lay waiting in the harbour till the Dutch authorities would give permission for it to sail again. All the material is brought together in the form of a book that documents the story of an absurd Indian society in miniature vorm.

The book was nominated for the best designed book of the year 2004.
